Students’ Learning Improvement Program IETS has undertaken Students’ Learning Improvement Program focusing on three areas of improvement for the learners: English, Maths and Science. Simultaneously, it has conducted teacher training programs to aid in the process of learning and thus build teaching capacity.
The approach used was innovative wherein emphasis was laid on learning through “self-discovery.” It involved use of the Kit Approach for specific subjects like Science, English and Mathematics. The Kit Approach integrates the concept of raising the standards of English, Math and Science teaching in schools in order to inspire the students to learn. It also motivates creative teaching by providing pedagogical inputs. Thus, the Kit Approach was used to meet the program objective of enhancing student performance and teaching capacity.
IETS has provided training and implementation support in 458 Ashramshalas run by the Commissioner of Tribal Welfare, Gujarat where 55,000 students and 2200 teachers were trained in capacity building, English language skills, Maths, and Science.
