In partnership with Webel Informatics Ltd. (WIL), IETS is introducing a Spoken English Program for the rural and semi-urban youth, who are first generation English language learners. SPEED, Spoken English for Enhanced Development is to be delivered through 41 centers across all the districts of West Bengal. The project was launched at Press Club, Kolkata on March 4th 2009. After the launch, SPEED Training of the Trainers (TOT) was organised for the facilitators of SPEED in this project. While 45 faculties were certified for delivering SPEED, nearly 100 students have enrolled in 10 centres across West Bengal by now.
