IL&FS Education joins hands with CAIRN India to set up libraries in rural schools of Gujarat
IL&FS Education, Gujarat Region has taken the ownership of enhancing reading skills of around 14,000 students of 55 rural schools in six select districts of the State.
The project is funded under the umbrella of CSR activities of CAIRN India, a leading player in the Indian oil and Gas industry and supported by Primary Education Department of Gujarat.
IETS plays the important role of the implementing agency by upgrading 25 libraries which were set up in the year 2011-2012 and creating 30 new libraries in Primary Government schools.
These libraries will be equipped with variety of books, appropriate furniture, teaching-learning material, educational games and puzzles and subject specific kits. One of the most important aspects of this set-up is teacher training on library usage and library management.
It is IL&FS Education's sincere endeavor towards helping students imbibe good reading habits, not only as a recreational activity but also to gather information beyond academics and to help equip them with better vocabulary and explore literature at a far deeper level.
