IL&FS Education launches Technology and e-Content Program for Marathi Schools
21-Oct-2011
Maharashtra: IL&FS Education has launched a Technology and e-Content Program for Marathi schools. Called 'K-Class' (Marathi), the program is first of its kind launched for vernacular schools in the country. Currently all technology enabled e-content programs are targeted at English schools. However, IL&FS Education has introduced a similar model for Marathi schools in Maharashtra.

'K-Class' Marathi is a combination of K-Yan (a portable PC+Projection System developed by IIT Mumbai) and over a 2000 multimedia learning units in Marathi mapped to Maharashtra State Board curriculum. In addition, the programme also offers over 500 science videos and over 400 self learning science experiments called Exploriments. The Exploriments are available in simple English to ensure that the school children are also exposed to English language terminologies. 'K-Class' Marathi program is available on a monthly fee model for a period of 3 years.

This is the first instance in India where a technology and e-Content program has been launched for vernacular schools on a monthly fee basis. IL&FS Education has been keen to offer its programs to all Marathi schools in Maharashtra since they are sizeable in number and open to technology based learning.
