IL&FS joins hands with Government of Meghalaya to groom rural youth for service industry

Umroi: The Department of Community & Rural Development (C&RD), Government of Meghalaya has mandated IL&FS Education to impart skills to rural BPL youth to make them employable.

Under this initiative, IL&FS will conduct skills based development programme for rural BPL students in Meghalaya to make them employable through in the hospitality and services sector.

The first successful batch of 28 candidates recently completed their training programme in Umroi village out of which 25 students have been recruited by Mainland China Group. An exclusive valedictory function was held for successfully trained candidates, wherein the completion certificates distributed. During the function the candidates also shared their experiences about the training sessions.

IL&FS is actively working to mobilise the youth for this initiative to minimise unemployment in the state and also help the rural youth upgrade their skill set.

12 candidates from Mawlyngbna village have already enrolled themselves for the next training programme.
