Certificate Distribution Ceremony held at Erode

Tamil Nadu: IL&FS Education organised a Post Placement Stipend and Certificate Distribution Ceremony at the Erode Textiles and Garments Exporters Association (TGEA) Centre on 15th Dec 2011. TGEA has been actively working with IL&FS as the training partner for SEAM (Skill and Employment for Apparel Manufacturing).

Post placement stipend and certificates were distributed to 185 trained candidates who had successfully completed their SMO (Sewing Machine Operator) training programme at the IL&FS SEAM (Skill and Employment for Apparel Manufacturing) centre at Erode.

The certificate distribution ceremony was presided over by Dr.A.K Shanmugam, District Collector - Erode. Dr.Shanmugam congratulated the candidates and also appreciated the efforts taken by IL&FS Education to empower the rural poor.

The SEAM programme from IL&FS has been successfully offering training on various skills sets required in the apparel industry. Through the years the SEAM initiative has not only played a significant role in training the BPL youth, but has also brought an integral change in the lives of India’s unprivileged youth, by providing them skills training and employability to ensure a sustainable livelihood.

Till date the SEAM initiative has trained around 1.11 Lakh candidates and 98,000 have been already placed.

On 15 Dec'11 IL&FS Skills conducted a Post Placement Stipend and Certificate Distribution Ceremony at Textiles and Garments Exporters Association (TGEA), Erode. DR.A.K Shanmugam, District Collector - Erode graced the occasion as the chief guest.
