Skill Builder
Certificate Program in Computer Application (CPCA)

What is Skill Builder?
Skill Builder has been especially designed for building basic IT capacities. Computer applications are taught through examples, which are relevant to the environment, hence participants learn to use Technology as a Life Skill. The course will empower youth with skills to make them employable in organizations where Technology is used as a medium for carrying out work.

What are the objectives of the Skill Builder?

1.  To enable youth to perceive technology as a productivity enhancing tool
2.  To enable youth to recognize where and when technology could be most beneficially employed
3.  To create enthusiasm about the benefits of using technology in various spheres of life

What is the Core Content of the Skill Builder?
The syllabus design is outcome-oriented and includes:
1.  Introduction to Computers & Windows Operating System
2.  Usage of Printer, Scanner etc.
3.  Usage if MS Office Tools- of Word Processors, Spreadsheets and Presentation software.
4.  Usage of Printer, Scanner etc.

How will participants benefit from the Skill Builder?
Participants who undergo the Skill Builder Programme will be-
1.  Able to use Computer applications effectively to carry out various day to day tasks
2.  Able to access information & communicate using the Internet
3.  Be employable in offices where Technology is used for communication

What is the duration of the Skill Builder?
The Skill Builder program is offered as a three months daily classes model or six months alternate class model.

SPEED
SPOKEN ENGLISH FOR ENHANCED DEVELOPMENT
            
What is SPEED?
SPEED (Spoken English to Enhance Development) Program is an English Program for young adults and adults, who need language skills to help them in their pursuit of employment and to build their confidence in everyday public life.

What are the objectives of SPEED?
Program for young adults and adults, who need English language skills to

1.  Help them in their pursuit of employment
2.  To build their confidence in everyday public life

What does the SPEED curriculum cover?
SPEED is a theme based programs and covers the following five themes (Modules)
1.  All About Me
2.  Everyday Talk
3.  Common Contexts
4.  Dealing with Others
5.  Communication Skills

How will participants benefit from SPEED?
1.  Builds a functional vocabulary related to Home, Work, Travel, Public spaces
2.  Learns useful sentence structures with correct pronunciation
3.  Learns telephone etiquette and simple social graces
4.  Learns appropriate expressions and phrases
5.  Reads and writes effectively and confidently

What is the duration of SPEED program?
1.  Speed is delivered through 40 sessions of 90 minutes each
2.  The program can be completed in three and a half months with alternate day classes
3.  Each session has all the elements of learning including assessment

English Relay Program

What is English Relay Program (ERP)?
English Relay Program is a specially designed program to teach English to children who are learning English as their second or third language.

What are the objectives of ERP?
The objective of ERP is to provide the learners with a fundamental competence in the English language.
ERP seeks to provide the enrolled students with:

1.  The basic ability to read, understand, speak and write English.
2.  An active vocabulary for basic, everyday English usage.
3.  The confidence to apply their learning in real life situations and be able to communicate effectively.

Who are the target beneficiaries of ERP?
Students in the age group of 5- 15 years who are learning English as a second or third language.
Through a Four Level Program:
  Level 1     Std 1 – 2 students
  Level 2     Std 3 – 5 students
  Level 3     Std 6 – 8 students
  Level 4     Std 9- 10 students

What is the methodology used to teach English in the English Relay Program?
The program will be delivered in a friendly and interactive environment where children:
(a)  Learn through games, exercises, role plays etc.
(b)  Hear recorded lessons for listening practice and exposure to correctly spoken English
(c)  Listen to and read specially written stories with illustrations to reinforce their learning
(d)  Further reinforce their learning through games and class activities

What is the duration of ERP?
ERP is offered in 60 sessions of 90 minutes each. The full program can be completed within 10 months.

CI - Connected Indian
A Certification Program in Internet Education


What is Connected Indian?
Connected Indian is a certificate program in internet education is collaboration between IL&FS ETS and Intel under the Connected Indian movement. It aims at bringing the power of internet into the hands of youth.

What are the objectives of Connected Indian?
1. To enable access of internet to every Indian.
2. To foster need of IT skills and benefits of internet to meet global challenges.

What does the Connected Indian Program content cover?
The Connected Indian Program encompasses:
1. Introduction to the computer and using word processor.
2. Introduction to Internet.
3. Sourcing Information from the Internet
4. Email and Chat
5. Evaluation

How will participants benefit from Connected Indian?
Participants who will undergo Connected Indian will be -
1. Able to use internet to carry their various day to day task.
2. Able to access internet and use email.
3. Able to download free software.
4. Able to do chatting.

What will is the duration of the Connected Indian?
It's a fifteen hour program offered as one month alternate class model.

CEP - Doubleclick!TM
The Computer Education Programme (CEP):


What is double click?
IL&FS ETS has developed a curriculum built-in computer education content - double click!TM - for Classes K-10. double click!TM provides students technological skills within the framework of their curriculum. Its aim is to go beyond just "learning computer skills" to actually "learning how to use computer skills appropriately".

What are the objectives of double click?
It aims at imparting computer literacy along with the all-important skill of learning new skills to apply the learning in your immediate environment.

What are benefits double click ?

  1. The teacher now does not have to spend a lot of time on planning and preparing what to teach, instead he/ she can concentrate more on executing the lessons to the students.
  2. Available at affordable prices, makes courses like these accessible to almost every student.
  3. Course completion certificates are provided, which adds to the list of certificates and merits for a student.
  4. When students step out of school, computer education will give them a better understanding of their choice of education, vocation and career in the later stage of their lives.
  5. double click!TM will give the students an edge over the others in other schools, colleges and universities, within the country and as well as in abroad.

What are the programme modules for double click!TM?
The programme module is divided into four segments.
  • (a) Kid Clix - which is recommended for the Pre-Primary Classes (Kindergarten).
  • (b) Junior - which is recommended for Primary School (1-4).
  • (c) Intermediate - which are recommended for Middle School (5-7).
  • (d) Senior Clix - which are recommended for Senior School Classes (8-10).
