| IETS bags the First prize in the Sankalp 2009 (540.64 KB) |
|
The IETS Learning Kit Approach was awarded the first prize for innovation and high impact in the Education category. The Sankalp Award 2009 was organised by Intellecap, Rockefeller Foundation, The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), the Rural Innovation Network (RIN) and Rianta Capital in an effort to recognize, connect and support high potential social initiatives.
Sankalp is a South Asia Social Enterprise and Investment Forum with the primary goal of bringing together various stakeholders, who share a conviction that capital should be invested in social enterprises. From among the 328 entries in 5 categories, from across the country, 50 were short-listed. The jury members were from esteemed organisations worldwide with vast experience in the field of social entrepreneurship and education.
Approximately 100 investors including the likes of Soros and Omidyar Growth Fund, Aureos Capital, Lemelson, Bellwether, Lok Capital, Microventures, Gray Matters Capital, Lightspeed Ventures, Grassroots Business Fund, Voxtra, India Knowledge Fund, and Aavishkaar attended the award function. |

| Manthan award |
|
Last year, the Hindi version of one of our products called Physics-My Own Lab won the Manthan Award under the E-Education category. The Hindi version is titled as Bhautiki-Meri Apni Prayogshala. The original English version was developed jointly by Learnet and IETS quite some time back and later the product was translated into Tamil and Hindi. We had nominated the Hindi version for the Manthan 2006 Awards, where it subsequently won the award.
